Pretending Like I'm a Hairstylist.

I finally decided to do the Ombre look on my dark locks. I talked about doing it a while in a blog post, and just got over it. I was nervous. Bleach is a scary thing. I've heard horror stories. I have had my hair bleached when i was a redhead a while back & it turned a lovely Sunny Delight color. Orange-tastic. Classy. However, with summer right around the corner it was time for a change. So i bucked it up and started seriously considering it.

I get scared to get my hair done.
Who knows why.
A hairstylist for sure knows what they are doing more than i do.
But what if i don't like it?
What if it doesn't turn out?
The truth is....i can only get mad at myself if i don't like it.
So i made the commitment to bleach it myself.

I have cut my own hair for who knows how long. And before that? My mom cut my hair. I've just never been a salon girl that goes and spends $100's on my hair. In fact, when i shaved the side of my head? My dear friend David at work brought clippers and shaved it right on the spot. I have no pride with hair stuff. So sue me.

I went to Sally's and bought myself a big ol' tub of bleach powder, developer, and toning shampoo. The lady that checked me out asked if i was a hairstylist....I think she was kinda feeling out if i knew what i was doing. I wish i had lied to her and told her yes. But, I knew if my hair didn't turn out, i'd be heading right back to Sally's to get dye. So i told her no....and she said, well....good luck!

Honestly, i watched like 5,224,345 YouTube tutorials on how to DIY Ombre your hair. (Most of them had British accents for some reason, So either the Brits are reaaaal into the Ombre look...or they were all faking accents.)

I'm proud to say i didn't Miss Frizzle my hair.
And i'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out.
I get those hairschool ladies and gents a round of applause....I might have a heart attack doing that everyday.

I'm considering going a little higher as my hair lightens naturally in the summer? Who knows though. My hair and I are bi-polar. It could be red next week? Kidding. Kidding.

But really, I felt like a hairstylist for a day...and that was a fun feeling.

Side note: I bought a pair of jeans. Not Grey Jeans....Not Black Jeans....BLUE JEANS. SAY WHAAAA?

If you know me, you know i rock the black pants/leggings daily. So this was big. I'm a tall lady, I can't just run down to Target and buy pants. They turn into floods after one wash. Always. Usually i am a huge fan of 7 for all mankind...but after three pairs getting holes after a few months of wearing them, i had given up on jeans altogether. Until i met them. The jeans that changed my denim life. I found these beauties at H&M for only $40. Steal. A downright steal i tell ya. I might never go back to fancy pants. I'm cool with some &brand denim anyday.

So if you want some great pants for a cheeeeap price. Go to H&M. You will be pleased.
