I loved Romania.
I loved it SO much.
A lot of people asked why we went there.
(Jarrick served a mission in Romania)
You are going to Europe...and are spending 5 days in Romania?
I could have stayed longer.
It was beautiful.
We stayed in a little 300sq ft studio apartment while we were there.
It was adorable and had a pretty view of the city.
We were about 2 blocks away from the most beautiful park.
So on our first day we stopped for a traditional Romanian meal.
The soup?
Amazing.
So so tasty.
(it had meatballs in it...which i kindly gave to Jarrick.)
But it was delicious.
We decided to spend the rest of the day just around the park and downtown.
So we fed the birds and took a paddle boat our on the pond.
We wanted to visit the city that Jarrick lived in for most of his mission. (Ploiesti)
So we took the train and decided to make a pit stop in Ploiesti and then continue to Brasov and stay the night there.
We left on Sunday so we were able to make it to church.
This was the same ward that Jarrick lived in. We were hoping that people he remembered would be there...and that people would remember him.
I can't even tell you how adorable those sweet people were.
The happiest experience.
We walked in and people just came up to Jarrick and gave him hugs and gave us cheek kisses.
One adorable man even walked in the building, saw Jarrick, rubbed his eyes and said, "AM I DREAMING?!" He was just so excited.
At the end of the meeting, they called us both up to the stand and had us say a couple of things. (I obviously had a translator. haha) I cried. This never happens.
This is a picture of us with beautiful Ana. She was such a sweetheart.
I can't even begin to tell you how amazing that experience was. I will remember it forever.
We hopped back on the train after Jarrick ate this....
I don't even know what it is. ...
...and we headed to Brasov.
(aka the cutest little town in the world.)
I was slightly obsessed that they had their own little "Hollywood Sign."
And we visited Bran Castle. (Dracula's Castle)
This was a picture from our favorite restaurant in Brasov.
It was down in an old cellar below the city.
We had an amazing time shopping and exploring there and then headed back to Bucharest for the rest of our trip.
I would pay $1,000 to have a Fornetti stand in Utah.
I was obsessed.
I'm pretty sure I ate about 6 Mele (Apple) Fornetti's daily.
#cometoutah
We also ate a really classy mall lunch at McDonalds.
See that thing...
The BIG TASTY?
(no tomatoes of course)
That was on Jarrick's must do list.
They didn't have them anywhere else in Europe, but we finally found them in Romania.
Honestly, it was way good.
Our last day was great.
We went around Downtown and explored the little shops.
This was our picture of, "Oh hey, this will be our last bus ride." Mixed with, "OH NO, we are going home tomorrow!!"
This was Jarrick's meal. I can't even describe it all. I did try the yellow corn meal stuff.
I wasn't brave enough to eat the curly poo sausage.
Romania.
We loved you.
It was so fun to hear Jarrick speak Romanian non-stop for 5 days.
Its beautiful.
I will miss that city.
We had an amazing time on our little European adventure. We just consider ourselves lucky that we had the chance to do it....and now...we want to go back!
