Rome, Italy

Rome.
It was great.
It's crazy to think about how old that city is...
...yeah, it still blows my mind.
On our first day we went to the Vatican. We had heard some pretty hairy details about trying to get in. Long lines. Go with a tour group, etc. But, for some reason we got REALLY lucky and walked right in.
No tour.
No line.
It rocked.

Are you kidding me ceilings?!

I think if you had a full week you wouldn't be able to see everything that the Vatican has to offer. Each room had amazing paintings, murals, scenery. We also were sneaky and took pictures inside the Sistine Chapel. REBELS!
Okay, but really... i think everyone was doing the same thing as us.
So i didn't feel bad.

And, because i am 5yrs old, i did this on my phone after we left.

We also stopped by St. Peters Basilica.

 Jaw Dropping.
Beautiful.
Stunning.
(Any other adjectives for beautiful could be inserted here)

Aaaaand this might be my favorite picture ever.

Day 2 was MY BIRTHDAY!! I consider myself a pretty lucky young lady to spend a day in Rome with my love to celebrate the big 2-4. I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Jarrick was cute and ran down to the store in the morning to get us "breakfast." When he came back he presented me with a bottle of bubbly. AKA "Happy Party." He told me he assumed this was non-alcoholic since it had Disney Princesses on it. We got way excited and decided to pop bottles. (Yes, it had a cork.) WAY FUN.
(side note: Don't buy Happy Party to drink it. It was disgusting. But was waaayyy fun to pop the cork off.)

We went to Trevi Fountain and of course made some wishes. I think that if you throw coins in and it's your birthday you get double wishes? So we will be back? Just a guess.
Happy Birthday to ME!!!
On our way back from Trevi Fountain to Dinner we found the most amazing second hand store. The first thing i saw when i walked in were these shoes. Amazingly (seriously, Italians are tiny people) these shoes were my size. Not a question was asked and they were purchased. Jar also found an amazing leather wallet and some knitted Valentino Ties.

(Jar got the Carbonara, I got Salami Pizza. I only trust the salty cured meats while abroad.)
I of course at Pizza for my birthday, cause' it's my favorite food.
Also, Italians know how to make a mean pizza.
Hands Down.
The. Best.

(tThis Gelato was our Favorite...Mine: Banana and Chocolate Orange, Jar: Chocolate Orange and Strawberry)
They also know how to make incredible gelato. I thought it was all hype about how amazing it is.....boy, was i wrong. We ate Gelato daily.
Much better than Birthday Cake.

Our last day was spent Seeing the Colosseum and Forum.

On our walk home that night, Jar snapped this shot.
I think it sums up Rome quite nicely.
