Jar & I needed a little getaway.
Bad.
We decided sporadically Friday morning that we were going on a little road trip.
Our first choice was going to be Yellowstone. (It was the first weekend it was open!)
However, the idea of 30 degree weather and snow didn't seem to be to Easter-y.
The Tilby's were in Vegas & we thought it would be fun to join them.
So Friday afternoon we packed up our bags and headed south.
We made a pit stop in St. George for obvious reasons.
Swig Sugar Cookies. Aka the best cookie ever invented.
(They dyed them mint green for Easter...i promise they aren't moldy.)
(Side note: I would most likely still eat that cookie if it were moldy.)
and of course....a boba tea from The Orange Peel.
I think my prayers are being heard, because they are building an Orange Peel about 3 minutes away from my work.....when i heard....i jumped for joy. Literally.
Honeydew Almond Boba.
There isn't anything better.
So yeah...we stopped in St. George for snacks.
Obviously.
We tried to book a hotel...but seeing as it was Easter weekend, pretty much every hotel was booked or 10 times more expensive than usual.
So Jarrick had a good idea....to stay in Mesquite, NV so we would be halfway.
I vetoed the idea.
However, at $50/night it seemed like a steal.
Well....in case you are wondering...this is what $50/night gets you...
You might look at it and be like...meh, it isn't so bad.
Well just be glad that you can't smell a picture.
There might as well have been a sweaty gym sock smoking in the corner.
That kind of smell.
We layed in the bed for a smooth 15 min and decided this wasn't going to work.
Luckily, Jar's parents were sweet enough to let us stay the night in their hotel room in Vegas.
So off we drove to Vegas.
*note to self: never stay at the Virgin River. Not even if it is only $50*
We stayed the next night at the Silverton in Vegas.
It was heavenly & the pillows might as well have been marshmallow fluff.
We spent Saturday on the strip shopping our little hearts out.
This picture has nothing to do with shopping, but that Berry Hibiscus Refresher at Starbucks is pure bliss.
It made the Vegas heat so pleasant.
Viva Las Vegas.
It was a great Easter weekend!
We headed home first thing Sunday morning and joined my sweet sisters & their families for a delicious dinner. My mom, dad & brother were missed...but they were in Italy...so i'm pretty sure an Italian Easter didn't suck.
There was an egg hunt & flower crown making.
It was a great weekend full of love....
XO
